Minke Whale | Art Print

‘A digital print featuring my linocut of a minke whale with its calf. This image is from my linocut print of a Minke Whale. I was thrilled to see my first whale recently when it swam near our boat off the west coast of Scotland. Deep blue, grey, black, graphic, emotive, a mother whale looks at the viewer whilst protecting it’s calf. As I carved the image I used the marks to give form to the sea creatures and a feeling of movement in the sea.

People who like my work love wildlife, coastal walks, the sea, nature, seabirds, whales, sea creatures, sailing, snorkelling, sea swimming, the great outdoors. This print would also be the perfect gift for Mother’s Day, christening, new baby, child’s birthday. It would look well in a holiday cottage, a bathroom, a child’s room. It would work well in a set of framed prints with ‘Sea Otter’, ‘Oystercatcher’, ‘Curlew on Shore’, ‘Seal with Pup’.

In my making process I carve the design out of linoleum or Japanese vinyl, roll it up with ink and hand print it. ‘

This is printed on 140gm textured paper and mounted in off-white card. It is a signed open edition print. Overall size including mount 25 x 25cm, cello wrapped for protection.
